The Mobile & Modular Labs are in service worldwide for a range of public health, research and emergency preparedness missions. For example, the mobile units are deployed for high profile events such as the Olympics and G8/G20 summits.
The containerized modular labs play a critical role in bringing BSL-3 capabilities to geographic areas where Biosafety Level 3 operations previously have been unobtainable. These labs are designed to meet the requirements of regions with limited utilities and infrastructure or severe environments. For example, the BSL-3 lab in Nigeria was adapted to operate effectively even during the seasonal sub-Saharan sand storms.
